FCW's Tech Briefing on RAID [Sept. 9] was technically informative. Although we enjoyed the article we would like to note that Distributed Processing Technology was conspicuously omitted from the story though we provided FCW with extensive information on the subject of RAID and on DPT products. As a leader and pioneer in RAID caching and SCSI technology we were disappointed to find we were not included in the story. The federal market is important to DPT which is why we have a government office in the D.C. area.

Also in the article "Smart-RAID" was referred to as a generic technology. Please note that "SmartRAID" is a trademarked product from DPT. All our news releases refer to this trademark.

Our award-winning line of SmartRAID RAID-ready disk controllers and subsystems boast state-of-the-art technologies such as S.M.A.R.T. and SCAM. SmartRAID also features numerous industry exclusives such as our SmartCorrect Error-Correcting Code (ECC) protection for all the cache and data paths - even the SCSI cable. DPT's senior analyst chairs the Fibre Loop committee which spearheads the future of RAID technology. We are actively involved in the RAID and SCSI community.
