NASA cancels two contracts B udget constraints recently forced NASA to nix the $70 million High-Speed Processor 4 contract at the Goddard Space Flight Center Greenbelt Md. The engineering support pact was to be used principally for the simulation of vehicles in flight. NASA also canceled Goddard's $40 million Code 710 Engineering Support contract which would have supported aerospace systems for the Space Technology Division.SBA blocks 8(a) contract awardsThe Small Business Administration last month rejected the General Services Administration's attempt to reinstate 8(a) vendor contracts worth up to $90 million each. GSA's now-disbanded Information Technology Service last year scrapped the contracts on the grounds that they violated small-business regulations. John Okay deputy commissioner of GSA's Federal Telecommunications Service said SBA's objections to GSA's plan concerned "technicalities of procurement laws and regulations.
