Accepting the award last week from GSA administrator David Barram were program director Carlos Villar marketing director Jerry Keith and contracting officer Jackie Gentry.

Janet Vasak a project manager at Science Applications International Corp. this month won one of the 1997 Top Five Project Leadership Awards by ABT Corp. a provider of information technology management solutions. ABT recognized Vasak for her work on the Environmental Protection Agency's Mission Oriented Systems Engineering Support project.

Michael Daniels sector vice president for SAIC this month was selected chairman of the Northern Virginia Technology Council an association of more than 650 technology companies that do business in the Washington D.C. area.

Gene Turley former director of marketing at Hughes Data Systems last month was appointed the company's vice president for marketing and sales. The company also appointed John Fritch as director of material. Fritch came to Hughes from Connor Peripherals where he was vice president of electronic commodity management.
