The shared-interest group on telecommunications of the Industry Advisory Council last week announced the formation of a new federal advisory team to work with the group on determining how agencies and industry can improve the performance of federal telecommunications contracts.

The advisory team consists of Sandy Bates, deputy commissioner of the General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service; Ron Hack, director of systems and telecommunications management at the Commerce Department; and Peter Paulson, chief of network operations at the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Bob Levin, assistant director for transportation issues, in the Resources, Community and Economic Development Division at the General Accounting Office, will become assistant director for environmental protection issues at the GAO division.

Belva Martin, senior evaluator for transportation issues, will replace Levin.
