Richard "Jack" Hunt, former chief of criminal intelligence at the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division, last month was appointed director of federal law enforcement in the Federal Network Systems division of GTE Internetworking. He will be responsible for creating Internet security solutions for federal law enforcement agencies.

Timothy Allmond was named regional sales manager for IPNet Solutions Inc.'s federal and mid-Atlantic markets. Allmond was previously regional manager for Sterling Commerce Inc.'s federal region.

Steven Palmer, formerly assistant secretary for governmental affairs at the Transportation Department, joined the Washington, D.C.-based government relations firm Van Scoyoc Associates Inc. Palmer will focus on aviation, transportation, aerospace, technology and economic development issues.

Informix Corp. last week announced that Jack Wicklein has joined its federal team. Before joining Informix, Wicklein held senior management positions with Amdahl Corp. and NCR Corp. He is a former associate commissioner for system operations at the Social Security Administration.
