Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) has been named chairman of the Republican High Tech Outreach Team. The team was established last month by Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) to address issues affecting the U.S. technology industry.
The new Federal Information and Records Managers Council elected its first group of officers at a May 27 meeting. Carol Brock, records manager with the Overseas Private Investment Corp., is the chairwoman. Anne Baker, records management officer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is co-chairwoman. John Vasko, information policy officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, is the secretary. Board members include Brock and Baker as well as Charley Barth, Navy; Bruce Campbell, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.; John Paul Deley, Federal Trade Commission; Greg Fraser, CIA; Alice Gannon, Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight; Nancy Miller, National Labor Relations Board; Mary Rawlings-Milton, Office of Thrift Supervision; and Rachel Van Wingen, Environmental Protection Agency.
Gregory Withee has been named assistant administrator for satellite and information services at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He previously was deputy assistant administrator at the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service and replaces Robert Winokur, who retired in April.
Jack Hightower, a lawyer for Hilgers and Watkins, Austin, Texas, has been chosen by President Clinton to be a member of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Sciences. His role awaits Senate confirmation.
JetForm Corp. has named Andrew Bridge its vice president of government operations. He will be responsible for the company's federal and state government sales.
