Rhode Island Conducts Internet Learning Day

Bell Atlantic joined Bryant College, the Urban League of Rhode Island and the Women's Center of Rhode Island in co-sponsoring a free, Internet Learning Day, part of Bell Atlantic's initiative aimed at residents in communities who do not have regular access to Internet training.

Internet Learning Day was held Oct. 30 at Bryant's Smithfield, R.I., campus and featured sessions for beginners as well as opportunities for participants to continue their learning through advanced seminars at the school's Bell Atlantic Telecommunications Center.

The beginner sessions showed participants places where they can enjoy free Internet access and ways they can get a personal computer at a reduced cost. Attendees also could sign up for follow-up programs on topics including World Wide Web page development, launching a Web site and marketing a business on the Internet.
