Pennsylvania Launches Adoption Web Site

The site, www.adoptpakids.org, includes photos of children currently waiting for permanent homes, as well as adoption guidelines, a medical history registry, a list of private adoption agencies, and information on the Statewide Adoption Network.

"Now, parents can go online to learn how they can adopt a child in Pennsylvania -- who they need to contact, what they need to do," Ridge said. "We want to help bring adoptive families together."

November was National Adoption Month, and Ridge and his wife encouraged libraries across Pennsylvania to post adoption displays in an effort to raise awareness. "By harnessing modern technology, we hope to bring even more children and families together," said Secretary of Public Welfare Feather Houstoun.
