Electronic Data Systems Corp.: Founded in 1962, the Plano, Texas-based company specializes in global information technology services, such as desktop outsourcing, information assurance, customer relationship management, Web hosting and managed network services. Its largest customer is General Motors Corp., which owned EDS from 1984 to 1996. EDS employs about 120,000 people. Stock price: Shares of the company's stock rose by more than $6, or about 10 percent, following the release of its fourth quarter 2000 and year-end financial results on Feb. 7. Annual revenue: $19.2 billion in 2000, up 3 percent from $18.7 billion in 1999. About 14 percent of revenue is from worldwide government work.
