ATG adds gov group, ally

Art Technology Group Inc., a provider of customer relationship management solutions, announced the formation of a government solutions group and a one-year exclusive reseller agreement with GTSI Corp.

According to the April 24 announcement, ATG's Dynamo e-Business Platform will be available through GTSI contracts, said Paul Shorthose, ATG's president and chief operating officer.

The Dynamo e-Business Platform enables organizations to manage and build online customer relationships in order to sell and support their products and services via the Internet.

IBM buys Informix Software

IBM Corp. announced April 24 that it will purchase Informix Software, a database business with customers in the intelligence community and elsewhere.

The agreement calls for IBM to purchase Informix Software from Informix Corp. for $1 billion in cash, continuing IBM's strategy of expanding its distributed database business. IBM's revenues in that sector grew 36 percent in the first quarter of 2001.

The deal is expected to close in this year's third quarter.
