This is in regard to Federal Computer Week's Dec. 10 editorial.

National ID cards will make it easier to find terrorists. They will also make it easier for an evil government to control and abuse citizens.

President Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft will not abuse their power. However, if someone without character were to come to power, a device to control and abuse citizens is already in place.
