Following is a response to an FCW.com poll question that asked: "What is at the top of your holiday IT wish list?"
With the current information systems reorganizations and the A-76 plate being loaded, I would like to find a secure place to work. Every time you look into moving to a secure position, that is the next position under the A-76 study.
I understand that the government should not compete with its citizens, but I am a citizen as well. I still have to pay a mortgage and put food on the table for my children.
I would like to see the actual cost savings that the government has gotten from contracting out Defense Department work. It's my understanding that one of the jobs DOD has contracted out was cooking for the military. If I am to assume the role of a private out in the field has changed, has my role changed? Am I now protecting the civilian cooking my food, instead of the goal at hand of battling terrorism?
Has the A-76 project gotten out of control?
