SBA takes cue from FirstGov on Web site redesign
The Small Business Administration relaunched its Web site last week, using the customer-centric formula being pushed by the Office of Management and Budget and the General Services Administration’s FirstGov portal.
The site, at www.sba.gov
, is divided into five areas aimed at meeting business owners’ needs:Starting a businessFinancing a businessManaging and growing a businessBusiness opportunitiesDisaster assistance
SBA added a geo-mapping feature that lets users find their nearest district office or other agency resources, such as a women’s business center. The site also features an expanded online library with more than 50 free online courses and 200 free electronic books.
SBA officials said the new look will make navigation easier and more logical. (Click to link to a PDF of the June 11 SBA press release)
The site averages more than 1.2 million visits weekly and holds more than 50,000 documents.
