Defense gives employees electronic access to pay info

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service has launched Newswire, a service to deliver information about pay, finance and accounting matters to Defense Department employees’ e-mail accounts.

To get the Newswire, employees must subscribe at www.dfas.mil/news.

Subscribers can also access their own personal pay information through a link on the DFAS myPay site, at https://mypay.dfas.mil. The site offers pay statements and tax documents and lets users change some accounting information online.

“Nearly 6 million people depend on DFAS to deliver pay and entitlements,” Claudia L. Bogard, director of corporate communications for the DOD agency, said in a statement. “The DFAS Newswire helps keep them up-to-date on policies, programs and events that can affect them.”
