Emery to be Homeland Security deputy CIO

Mark Emery, the acting deputy chief information officer of the Transportation Security Administration, will soon be named the deputy chief information officer at the Homeland Security Department, according to industry sources.

CIO Steve Cooper has been without a deputy since Laura Callahan was placed on administrative leave last June, after it was disclosed that she had obtained her academic credentials from a so-called diploma mill.
