VA puts vets’ insurance info online

The Veterans Affairs Department has given veterans online access to their Veterans’ Group Life Insurance accounts to view and manage policy information.

The VGLI Online Account Access system is available at a secure site, www.insurance.va.gov.

“We will be adding new features to both our online account and interactive voice response systems on a continuing basis so veterans can manage their policies from anywhere, at any time,” VA undersecretary for benefits Daniel Cooper said in a statement.

Veterans can view their current amount of coverage, premium rate and billing method, as well as change their billing address.

Future features will let them change method and frequency of payment. A calculator to determine a recommended amount of insurance is also available on the site.
