Altiris joins IBM scripting kit

Altiris and IBM officials have entered into an agreement that allows IBM to sell Altiris' Deployment Solution for Servers product. Altiris' technology will be packaged as part of IBM's scripting tool kit to help customers automate and standardize complex server deployments for IBM eServer xSeries and BladeCenter systems.

The combined technology will enable information technology managers to standardize processes, which results in saved time and money for server provisioning, said Rob Sauerwalt, IBM global brand manager for eServer xSeries and BladeCenter.

"Collaborating with systems management companies like Altiris provides IBM customers a broader set of deployment automation alternatives," he said.
