"Major Management Challenges at the Department of Veterans Affairs"

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced that Robert Howard has been named to head the VA's Office of Information and Technology. He will supervise and manage all operations and employees in that office.

Howard joined the VA a year ago as senior adviser to the deputy secretary. Previously, he served in several leadership roles in the private sector and as deputy assistant secretary of the Army.

Howard is a Vietnam War veteran who served 33 years on active duty in the Army, rising to the rank of major general.
