FEMA hires SiloSmashers to build disaster relief program

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is bringing in SiloSmashers to help implement its Total Asset Visibility Program.
Terms of the award were not released.
According to the announcement, SiloSmashers will help FEMA create and maintain a program management office to develop the program. The program is designed to give FEMA more control over its logistics supply chain during crises and broaden the agency’s disaster relief efforts.
SiloSmashers said the program would be fully integrated within FEMA’s transformational initiatives and aligned with the Homeland Security Department and the federal government. It is also designed to support the President’s Management Agenda and e-government initiatives.
“We are extremely pleased to have been selected for this important program, and our fourth significant FEMA award over the last quarter of 2006,” said Bruce Higgins, senior vice president of business development at SiloSmashers, in a statement. “This highly visible program is extremely important to ensuring the nation is better prepared to respond to disasters. We are excited to be supporting FEMA with the building of this program management office.”
Founded in 1992, SiloSmashers is a woman-owned management and technology consulting firm based in Fairfax, Va.
