Digital rights management pioneer joins GigaTrust

Harry Piccariello, a pioneer in digital rights management, has been named chief marketing officer at GigaTrust, also known as GigaMedia Access.

In this position, Piccariello has dual responsibilities for product development and traditional marketing functions including brand development and marketing communications.

Piccariello's career as an information technologist spans 25 years. He held executive positions at Cloakware, a software protection and anti-tamper company, and ContentGuard, a company focused on creating the worldwide standard Digital Rights Expression Language. Microsoft, Time Warner and Thomson acquired the company.

Piccariello has been involved and worked with leading vendors and standards-setting organizations such as the International Standards Organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Open Mobile Alliance for the past 11 years.
