SBA gets new general counsel

Steven Preston, administrator of the Small Business Administration, has named Frank Borchert III SBA's new general counsel.

Borchert will be the chief legal adviser to Preston and the agency's senior staff on issues involving the development and implementation of SBA policies and programs.

Borchert most recently was executive vice president and deputy general counsel at Capital One Financial. As such, Borchert led a legal department with more than 50 attorneys, 120 employees and a multimillion-dollar budget. The department was responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of legal, corporate, litigation and regulatory advice, and services.
