Public Printer Robert Tapella has appointed Maria Lefevre chief of staff at the Government Printing Office.

The chief of staff is the principal adviser to the public printer on overall management of the agency. Lefevre will be responsible for formulating and coordinating all internal and external agency policies.

She arrived at GPO in 2004 as deputy chief of staff. For the past three years, she has overseen the day-to-day operations, budgets and oversight of executive offices.

Lefevre also coordinates requests from Congress' Joint Committee on Printing (JCP), along with other agency publications and communications with Congress.

She was staff director at JCP, policy director of the House Administration Committee and legislative director for a member of Congress. She managed legislation on the House floor and formulated policy issues for the JCP chairman.
