Letter: Vendors will block Navy’s open-standards plan

Regarding “Navy to focus only on open systems”: The plan to use only open standards will not survive when vendors start to lobby Congress. Look what happened when Massachusetts officials tried to adopt an open standard for office documents. Don't remember that? It got squashed by lobbyists and legislators.

Good luck, USN! I'll be rooting for you. I hope your plan works.
