Campbell greatly expanded the profile and scope of federal Web managers, making 2008 a breakout year for them. She launched a Facebook-like networking Web site for them to share resources and ideas.

Her work has helped the approximately 1,500 agency Web managers coordinate resources across agencies and combine their data, which ultimately is saving money. It has also reduced duplication of work among the managers.

“She’s been a catalyst in transforming a once small, unknown group of government Web managers into the largest community of practice of it kind,” said Martha Dorris, acting administrator of the citizen service and communications office at GSA.
