Facebook may hire Robert Gibbs, former White House press secretary

Hiring said to be in preparation for 2012 public offering

Facebook is said to be in talks with Robert Gibbs, President Barack Obama’s former White House press secretary, for a high-level position in the social media company's communications division, according to a report in the New York Times.

Facebook is preparing for initial public stock offering planned for early 2012.
