NASA behind the curve on advanced tech, report says

NASA's technology base has eroded, leaving the agency without the advancements needed to meet the goals of its space program, InformationWeek reports.

A report by the National Research Council said the success of space missions will depend on advanced technology that should have already been underway, but that it's been years since NASA had a broad-based technology program, the article said.

NASA plans to send people to the moon and Mars, the story noted.
