The impact: The service’s success in data center consolidation is saving millions and providing deployed Marines with fast access to information anywhere in the world at any time.

The nuts and bolts: Nally’s efforts facilitated the launch of the Marine Corps’ federated data center, a model for scalable virtualization. He also pioneered efforts to reform the Marine Corps' IT governance, acquisition and accountability, and has partnered with the Defense Information Systems Agency on cyber training.
