The work: Keeping the Army’s mobile devices secure in an era of constant technological evolution.

The impact: Smith’s team has made significant improvements in implementing and streamlining the Defense Department Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process for information systems, which in turn has improved business processes, accountability and customer service.

The nuts and bolts: While acknowledging the need to deploy new mobile technologies quickly, Smith has taken actions to establish standards, provided interim solutions, and helped organizations test the devices without violating standards or the law. He is also adept at building diverse teams and guiding them through complex challenges.
