The techie nurse. Bellas was the shot in the arm Tricare Online needed. The Navy nurse re-energized the Defense Department's portal for patients, which offers Tricare's 9.6 million eligible beneficiaries a single online point of entry to health services and personal health information. With just the right dose of innovation and empathy, Bellas led a series of development efforts that included giving individuals online access to their personal health data, such as laboratory results, medications and doctor visits. Bellas has devoted her career to advancing health IT and helped redefine the concept of personalized health care at DOD.
