Federal 100: Lorraine Landfried

Lorraine Landfried

Name: Lorraine Landfried
Title: Deputy CIO for Product Development
Agency: Department of Veterans Affairs

The program management ace. Landfried increased VA's "on time" program delivery rate to 89 percent. Previously, the on-time rate was 30 percent and most programs failed to execute properly. She also went beyond the scope of her responsibilities to directly affect the deployment and ongoing execution of a program to improve benefits processing for veterans. Her intense focus on the successful and timely deployment of programs serves as a model for all VA managers and was a key factor in the success of VA's Program Management Accountability System, which numerous agencies are adapting for their own use.
