Fraud investigator. Slevin launched the EFraud Project to help root out student aid recipients suspected of fraud. He not only identified a way to automate an unwieldy amount of information to guide audits and investigations, but also developed systems that use statistical and mathematical techniques to discover and predict anomalies that point to fraud. Slevin's analytical risk model has already uncovered tens of millions of dollars in probable fraud loss. As a result of his innovative work, the Education Department now incorporates fraud-detection methodologies into its organizational processes and operational environment.
