Early on, Soloway took an unwavering position on the negative impact of the fiscal cliff and sequestration on government and industry -- speaking frequently and with clarity throughout 2012. He had a clear vision of what would happen if the federal budget issues were not resolved, and he alerted federal contractors and government leaders to the pain everyone would suffer. Soloway's willingness to speak out as soon as the problems arose made him a leading voice for industry, said Dan Chenok, executive director of the IBM Center for the Business of Government.
