Federal 100: Eric Strom

Eric Strom

Name: Eric Strom
Title: Unit Chief, Cyber Initiative and Resource Fusion Unit
Agency: FBI

Cyber sleuth. Strom’s job might sound like a spy novel, but the work has real-world consequences. His team of experts investigates and prosecutes cyber criminals who target government systems and threaten national security. In his behind-the-scenes role, Strom has been a key player in hundreds of arrests in the past four years. His success, colleagues say, is due in part to a well-choreographed partnership with the private sector. As liaison to the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, Strom has been a quiet and effective leader in ensuring that cyber intelligence can be shared and swiftly used.
