GFEBS is one of the Defense Department's largest and most successful enterprise resource planning systems -- and a bright spot in a struggling part of the military back office. Burden's focus on people drove the successful deployment of the $1.8 billion program. He "took over a program that lacked stability due to frequent changes in senior leadership and was the cornerstone of a remarkable turnaround," said Doug Wiltsie, the Army's program executive officer for enterprise information systems. "For the first time, Army and DOD leaders have real-time visibility into Army financial data, providing the foundation for informed decision-making."
