ICAM evangelist. Butler cut out the middleman in making DOD mobile, securing devices for use on unsecured networks without a proprietary third party. David Wennergren, former deputy CIO at DOD, has hailed Butler as the go-to person for innovative approaches to identity management. And his work extends beyond the Pentagon. Rob Palmer, director of information assurance at the Department of Homeland Security, said Butler’s drive to capitalize on identity, credential and access management technology has spread awareness of ICAM across government.
