Federal 100: Jennifer Gray

Name: Jennifer Gray
Title: Federal Cloud Lead for Enterprise Architecture
Agency: Department of Health and Human Services

Seeding the cloud. As chairwoman of the HHS cloud security group that achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification for Amazon Web Services, Gray wrote the book on how agencies can lead commercial firms through the extensive, demanding authorization process for cloud service providers, which includes 297 management and technical controls. Thanks to her work, any agency can take advantage of AWS' cloud services without spending time and money on its own authorization process. Additionally, agencies that want to conduct security assessments on cloud providers can use Gray's template for a collaborative FedRAMP certification process.
