Federal 100: Michael Krieger

Name: Michael Krieger
Title: Deputy CIO
Agency: Department of the Army

Buzzword beater. Krieger has played a key role in some of the Defense Department's biggest IT transformations, including unprecedented advances in enterprise email, data center consolidation, unified communications, mobility and the Joint Information Environment. All are buzzwords today, but not so long ago, they were less-than-popular Army initiatives that rocked the status quo. Thanks to Krieger's work, those initiatives have led to dramatic changes in the Army's IT infrastructure, significant cost savings, the free flow of information and the rise of a new era in enterprise IT.
