Veteran supporter. At a time when agencies and contractors alike are struggling to find top-notch IT talent, unemployment among post-9/11 veterans is nearly one-third higher than in the general population. Lucien is working to solve both problems in tandem. He was the primary force behind the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s Veterans Employment Initiative, which launched last August. The initiative, which has attracted a wide range of sponsors in the community, matches veterans with jobs, mentorships and certifications — and supports companies in their efforts to hire, train and retain veterans. More than 800,000 veteran résumés are now in the talent pool.
