Developing next-gen airmen. The Air Force's cyberspace workforce development plan targets the next crop of service members specializing in cyber. Matthews has realigned specialties and identified existing programs to recruit and retain cyberspace expertise. The result is significant progress toward achieving a goal to shape the 45,000-member cyberspace workforce. Matthews "engages on a personal level with his team and deftly coaches them to explore solutions they previously had not considered," said John Heidenreich, executive officer at Air Force Cyber Operations.
