Federal 100: Bernard Mazer

Name: Bernard Mazer
Title: CIO
Agency: Department of the Interior

Cloud consolidator. Mazer developed Interior's pioneering 10-year, $10 billion Foundation Cloud Hosting Services contract, which supports multiple Obama administration initiatives. It advances the cloud-first initiative, shared services, data center consolidation and mobility. FCHS also simplifies and expedites how the government transitions to cloud services, resulting in cost savings, increased productivity and improved mobility. In addition, Mazer led Interior's migration of more than 90,000 email users to a secure cloud-based collaboration platform in less than three months and brought nine bureaus under one IT roof by using his collaborative leadership style to bridge Interior's distributed environment.
