A year ago, Godbout and a handful of other former Presidential Innovation Fellows brought a brainchild to life. 18F started as a team of 12 techies at GSA's Washington headquarters and has grown into a nearly 100-person operation spread across the country, with plans to open a San Francisco office in the works. Along the way, Godbout recruited and hired dozens of software developers, product managers and designers with the goal of bringing a more agile approach to government and improving everyday processes.
