A fighter for FISMA. Congress has been looking for a way to modernize the Federal Information Security Management Act for more than six years. In the last Congress, Grote was instrumental in crafting a compromise plan that moved federal network protection from paper-based compliance to continuous monitoring and clarified authorities among key agencies. He and his colleagues drafted legislation that brought together stakeholders in the federal government and members of both parties and was able to pass the full Senate at the end of the legislative session.
