2016 Fed 100

Federal 100: Heather B. Burke

Name: Heather B. Burke
Title: Chief Engineer
Program Executive Office for Defense Healthcare Management Systems
Agency: Defense Department

Health record reinvention. Burke tackled the notoriously thorny problem of VA/DOD interoperability by standardizing processes, tools and accountability. Additionally, she developed a testing infrastructure to smooth the transition to the new system -- a critical project that her supporters say came in on time and on budget.
