Federal 100: Jeffrey Meisel

Name: Jeffrey Meisel
Title: Chief Marketing Officer
Agency: Census Bureau, Commerce Department

The data nerds' evangelist. Meisel has been the Census Bureau's chief marketing officer -- the agency's first -- only since October 2015, but he's been working as a Census evangelist since his Presidential Innovation Fellow posting there in 2014. Meisel worked on the open-source CitySDK, a software development kit/JavaScript library that seeks to connect public users more intuitively with the Census data they use the most. He also helped accelerate the bureau's adoption of agile development as he shepherded the award-winning project to launch in a mere 12 weeks.
