2016 Fed 100

Federal 100: Timothy Womack

Name: Timothy Womack
Title: Director of Digital Services
Agency: Department of the Treasury

Scaling and saving. Womack has pushed the cloud services envelope at Treasury. Most recently, he helped move the IT architecture for the department's public web presence to a cloud-based model where sites such as USAspending.gov and Treasury.gov now live. As his department helped lead the way on agency-to-agency everything-as-a-service offerings, Womack championed the Workplace.gov Community Cloud. In 2015, WC2 added FISMA Moderate accreditation capabilities. His work has resulted in dramatic reductions in the time to deployment for Treasury's XaaS customers. The embrace of cloud technology, aided by Womack's focus on reusability and on-demand scaling, has saved the department millions in cost avoidance.
