Field is an indefatigable advocate of OMB’s push to implement category management practices to improve how and what the government buys, foster relationships with suppliers and potentially save billions of dollars. In 2016, she guided the managers and teams of the 10 governmentwide categories that are the keys to the movement’s success. Field’s foundational work included establishing and negotiating key performance indicators and cross-agency priority goals for savings, spending, small-business utilization, reduction in duplicative contracts and use of the General Services Administration’s Acquisition Gateway.
