Newhart led the Digital IT Acquisition Professional training program and helped educate federal employees on the ins and outs of acquisition policy so they can provide better, more efficient services for the government. She also offered guidance to acquisition professionals on how to improve the way the government conducts business and how to expand the workforce’s skill set. In addition, Newhart was a force behind the scenes for such acquisition-improving initiatives as category management and the Defense Department’s Section 809 Panel.
