Watson spent much of 2016 as the acting program executive officer, overseeing an acquisition workforce of more than 1,600 and 34 programs that field more than $4 billion worth of critical IT systems annually. Under her leadership, Defensive Cyber Operations produced three prototype systems, the Logistics Modernization Program was fully deployed, and the $5 billion IT Enterprise Solutions-3 Hardware contract was awarded. She also successfully launched the first hardware buys for Home Station Mission Command Centers — a top priority of Army leaders.
