More than good ideas. Thanks to Gilday’s leadership, the Navy achieved full operational capability for all 40 Cyber Mission Force teams one year ahead of schedule. He also increased the realism of cyberspace operations in combatant command exercises, implemented plans to advance the Navy’s use of cloud-based technology, streamlined operational processes for patching and response actions in the face of threatening malware such as WannaCry, and initiated two new rapid development programs supporting network situational awareness and defense. “His leadership and experience are unmatched in bringing cyber effects to the fight,” said Rear Adm.
