2018 Fed 100

Federal 100: Chris Liddell

Name:  Chris Liddell
Title: Director of Strategic Initiatives
Agency: Office of American Innovation

From Microsoft to modernizing government. Liddell made the transition from Microsoft chief financial officer to public servant at an opportune time. Last year, he led the modernization strategy for the Trump administration, encouraging industry executives to share their expertise and viewpoints and ensuring that IT remained a management priority. Under his guidance, the Office of American Innovation created interagency working groups to determine modernization priorities. The White House's IT Modernization Report reflects those priorities, including a push to the cloud, adoption of shared services, enhanced cybersecurity and the establishment of centers of excellence.  Those successes prompted a promotion; Liddell was recently named White House deputy chief of staff for policy coordination.
